Have you ever confused of making any recipes with leftover idlis..
Here is my new recipe of KOTHU IDLI ...of course using leftover idli..(Usually this recipe include chicken pieces also but here i am using only vegetables..)
INGREDIENTS:
idli-5 (cut into small cubes)
onion-2 small
ginger-1 tsp chopped
garlic-1 tsp chopped
green chilly-2 chopped
tomato-1 medium sized
curry leaves-1 hand full
carrot-1/2 chopped
pepper powder-1 tsp
coriander powder-1 tsp
red chilly powder-1 tsp
turmeric powder- a pinch
salt - as needed
oil-1 tbsp
PREPARATION:
In a saucepan add oil ,when its hot add curry leaves and saute.Then add ginger,garlic and green chilly.saute well.
Add onion and mix till its soft ,add carrots and tomato and saute well
Add all the spices ,mix till the raw smell goes
if the consistency is dry you can add little water to make it a gravy
Check salt and add if needed at this point.
When its cooked add idli and mix well ,crush the idlis using a wooden spoon so it
can get mix well with gravy .Switch of the flame and SERVE HOT...
This recipe can be a substitute to our upmav,and use as a snack time recipe
